If it hadn’t been for the video footage at the Ahmoud Arbery trial, the accused three white men may have been found ‘not guilty’. In that case, it would have been compared to a modern day lynching of a black man in broad daylight not being punished by the judicial system. The trial was overshadowed by the defense team raising non valid issues reminding everyone of racial sentiments. They brought up a repealed Civil War citizen arrest law, objecting of black pastors attending the trial and pointing out that the black victim was barefoot and had dirty toenails. Even the defendants claim of self defense was ridiculous since they were three white men and they had the only weapon at the scene of the crime. In this case the jury system worked. The jurors did the right thing when the truth was told and rendered a guilty verdict.
